Disturbing - No models were harmed in the making of these photos

So we had a "disturbing" assignment a couple weeks ago, and I was scared to put up the photos in fear of scaring away any potential nature models but whatever...sorry models. I promise I'm not a psycho.

more coming...fortunately and unfortunately.

Theres one "more" I promised. Eeeeee! Dun dun dun....SAVE YOURSELVES!!!

And the nature portfolio continues

And as usual... just like my thoughts, the directions of the photos change. I'm like a whirlwind of thoughts, and sometimes its a good thing and other times its bad. But I suppose overall it is good, because I could come out with two separate portfolios stemming from the same idea. I just have to keep going.

Now, this black & white or color? I'm thinking black and white. I'm usually incorrect in my thoughts though regarding which photo to choose, so help me out!

This little series of Eddie with the leaf shadows on his back kind of go with the photos of my sister being a swamp the sense that....I don't know they just go. Nature is on them? Someone in class said these and the ones of my sister are more "intimate" than the others. Which makes sense on so many levels, #1 being my sister is my sister, and Eddie is my love. So how do I pinpoint that intimacy and find a way to use it in everything I do? Find a connection with everyone on some kind of level? See a few blogs ago for swamp Amy photos.

Speaking of nature. On my shoot with Catherine and Emily, mother nature took it upon herself to destroy my speedlite. I don't even know when it happened. I was wading through a river and next thing I know it my hot shoe thingy has been partially decapitated. Note: Wading through rivers did not damage it, some mysterious force did. Did river otters gnaw on it while I wasn't looking?

The great wilderness

So I met Catherine and Emily on craigslist and had an awesome shoot with them. It was so much fun! I can't believe I met two people who willingly hopped into a river with me. We shot for a while, sunk in sand, saw river otters, listened to Jimmy's mom, and made some sweet pics. Here are just a few. I'm still editing (I took a billion).

music and sports

Model: Stephen Duke

Well, I don't really have much to say today. I shot with the bees with a makeshift studio. I really need to invest in a background stand. Craigslist here I come!!

These subjects have nothing to do with each other. I just kind of forgot that I started a blog and so I'm catching up in my posts.

Model: Edward Heim Jr

And here's a baby sister in natural light. Kinda the theme of the portfolio project, but its not gonna be closeups. Natural light, natural looks, with a wispy, dreamy kind of feel.

I don't really know what to do with this little collection of orlando film pics. I really like shooting film, and I'm reminded by that every time I see photos from it. Whatever.

Photo Day!

So I took photos ALL day. Well let's be honest, the first half of the day I panicked about what to do for school and then the rest of the day after panicking was PHOTO TAKING through the house and into the FOREST. YEAHHHHH

like a wild beast ....or a possessed, scorned woman.

So I considered cloning out the surgical tape but I sort of came to feel that it suited the picture since the pose is fragile, and it is a painful part of her life right now. I love baby sisters! Why can’t I have more?

Weeeeeeeeee! Even people with use of only one arm can erupt in bliss in the studio.

Oh my gosh I'm out of paper.

I don’t know what I’m doing. I want to make a portfolio of genuine expressions, even if they’re goofy. Here’s #1. Maybe the portfolio will change. We’ll see.

I’m taking this moment to exploit my panic of only having 2 sheets of paper left, with 2 pictures to print. And I’m running low on ink. Let’s make this happen. Use my education to recharge the ink (using ESP of course) and print, PRINT DAMN IT, PRINT!

::ink CPR action::

So I started a blog. I don’t think I have a lot of interesting things to say but this is a way for me to share photos that don’t seem to fit in with any portfolios and for YOU to critique.

Starbucks made instant coffee. I’m not gonna lie. I’m scared of it. If I try it and coffee grounds get in my mouth I’m going to cry. And then sue. For….coffee grounditis…a dangerous condition where coffee infiltrates the taste buds and causes temporary gagging and spitting out of said grounds.

I gotta print these last 2. I feel like I can hear the ink seeping out of the cartridges while I screw around. Photos to come!
